Getting rid of your corns!!!Hey, has anyone gone to a podiatrist? I can't find one that offers free consultations. I was told to actually pay $75 just to speak to a podiatrist for possibly 15 minutes!! That's ridiculous!! I always felt I had pretty nice feet. All Of my friends have nice feet and I wish I could be one of them! I would like to wear flip flops too!! =( But anywho.. How can I get the color back on my toes? I am African American (Brown skinned) and look like a fool walking around the street with yellow circle on my pinky toes! Its obvious that my toes are harboring corns. I just can't live like this. I am too self concious about them. Please help! Is it possible to even get my color back? I've seen corn removal before and after photos on the train and these people have completely different feet! But on this forum and from what you guys are saying it is impossible to get nice feet. Once ya got em ya got em.. thats what it seems like here. Can someone ask their podiatrist if it's possible to completely remove the corn and gain back your original color?
Re: Getting rid of your corns!!!You may be a candidate for hammertoe surgery on the little toes. The procedure would straighten the toe and remove the corn. The biggest complication is swelling to the the toes. This swelling can stay around for several months to a year. So, this may dictate what shoes you can wear. Most of the time these corns are due to narrow toe shoes rubbing on the toes. If you can wear shoes with a wider toe box it may even reduce the corns without surgery. If the corn is removed with this surgery, then that yellow discoloration will be removed but you may have a small thin scar instead. This procedure may be your answer and a trip to the podiatrist may be worth it! I hope this helps!!
Re: Getting rid of your corns!!!I am new to the forum and would like to ask a secondary question. I also have the same problem as PrettySadeToes718. The corns are gone and the skin is soft, but the color has not come back. Is there a prescription that a doctor can give to help the skin color return?
