Numerous sleep problems...

Post a new topicby Guest on Tue Jan 29, 2002 3:14 pm

I'm completely out of answers for my boyfriend's sleep problems. I just want casues and possible treatments for his many disorders.
1. Will wake up in the middle of the night completely sweating, but is shivering he is so cold (occasional)
2. Wakes up with numb fingers/hands every morning
3. Only sleeps soundly in the morning/completely groggy, can't wake up no matter how early he goes to bed
4. Grinds teeth every night

He is 23 years old, works out, and is healthy by all other means. What is wrong?

The teeth grinding is a sleep disorder known as bruxism. It usually is a good idea to treat it with a mouth guard and may need medication or other therapy. Bruxism can lead to TMJ, a painful condition of the jaw and to dental problems. The other symptoms you describe could be many things and his physician is the best person to address these issues.
