Adult onset AsthmaOther than a sinusitus (sp?) problem since early childhood; I have never been sick.
When I was diagnosed with Asthma the doctor asked me if I could move back to where I was from. Four years in Montana was taking its toll on me and this is the land where my husband grew up. Re: Adult onset AsthmaI'm guessing that your asthma is triggered by seasonal allergies. I would suggest that you try to find a good Allergy & Asthma specialist in your area that tries to prescribe the minimal amount of medication as possible. In the mean time, I know it may be tough, but try to stay on your medications, I don't know what you are taking but I know with some steroids such as prednisone (also known as orapred) that you have to gradually begin to take it, and gradually taper off. If they are working to prevent an attack then that's good for now. Then go to an asthma & allergy specialist to get your asthma under control with the minimum amount of medication possible.
I know that I have seasonal asthma and for awhile there I was able to not have any attacks and not be on any medication besides one for allergies. Although recently I'm going to have to go back to the doctor to get it under control again. And that's kind of how you do things, go to the doctor, get it under control, and if it starts getting worse, then go back and see what you can do to fix it. I hope this helps, and I will keep you in my prayers! God Bless! ~Secret Rose
