Posterior Tibial Tendon Surgery

Post a new topicby Lucia13 on Wed Oct 07, 2009 8:36 am

I am now 6 weeks post tendon surgery for a ruptured posterior tibial tendon. In addition to repairing the torn tendon, he lengthened my Achilles tendon, and placed a bone graft on the other side of my ankle to hold my foot up to prevent the tendon from tearing again. This is standard procedure for this type of condition. I have been in a splint/then cast since the surgery. I will get the cast off next week at 7 weeks. My question is, has anyone had this surgery before. I want to know what to expect when the cast comes off. I will go into a boot with partial weight bearing at that time. I have been non-weight bearing since the surgery. Any info or advice would be appreciated.
