I’m OptimisticI am 35 years old and losing my hair. I can’t believe it. Since April 07 my hair started falling out. I am so unsure that I really cant express how I feel. I have alopecia areata. I have had stress through out my life. Why now?
It started as a small patch no larger than a dime and now it is about the size of the top of a average coffee cup, right on top of my head. I have to fight with myself in the morning to try and cover the spot by grabbing my other hair and pulling it up. I get so ag...Read the full article
Re: I’m OptimisticI just tried to post, but it did not show. I read your entry. I have a form of alopecia, from what I am told, lichen planopilarus. Are you being treated for your condition? I am not sure if my treatment is doing any good... the progression of the hairloss continues, but perhaps at a slower rate.
Re: I’m OptimisticHi! my name is bren and i have had alopecia since aug of 06 a little over a year. When my
hair started falling out it all went in less than 45 days! i had my hair highlighted which i think was a bad hairdresser and then i got into a very stressful arugment with my office manger i got the best of her but not before i got extremely upset. i think these two things led to what happened but i cannot prove it. now i went to pieces i did not know how to cope and to me it was all over i am 60 soon to be 61 but i had been married for about 5 years to a man 10 years younger so imagine how i felt would he leave me etc? my husband was sweet and took me on a 7 day cruise by the time i got back i had to wear a wig to work. the first day i cried all the way to work dreading it because i am a customer service manager at a big car dealership working with about 30 men everyday. can you imagine how i felt going in to face that? well to my surpise no one knew i had on a wig they all thought i had a new hair style. i am sorry goes to show you how much attention people really pay to us as opposed to how much we think they notice. in addition when i went into a wig salon i met another lady who had alopecia but i did not know that at the time and in she had on a wig and i could not even tell. i hope this is giving you some hope because what i learned is looks as important as they are certainly are not everything and can be dealt with but say a stroke or cancer well we are lucky that is all i will say. but the point is it may grow back after almost a year i am growing hair now do not get me wrong i am not counted on it because i have heard it can fall right back out and the growth is slow but point being there is hope. i have done alot of on line research and tried some things but none i can brag on. i buy my wigs on line and that was a journey in and of itself so if i can help let me know. i know its touch but it could be so much worse and that is how i cope i do not cry anymore and my depression does not come as often anymore i just try not to think about it and i have asked god if its mean to be that he let my hair come back that plus vitamins and i did do the scalp injections is all i have done so far i am still searching and open to trying new things. good luck and hope i have helped some bren
Re: I’m Optimisticbren again sorry for the not checking the spelling but i think you will get the point
